Kent Realtor® Marti Reeder Named to John L. Scott’s Chairman’s Circle for 2016

Marti Reeder, John L. Scott, Kent-CovingtonMarti Reeder, Realtor® and Managing Broker with John L. Scott’s Covington-Kent-Maple Valley office, is excited to announce she has earned the Chairman’s Circle Award for 2016, her third year in a row for the honor. Previously, Reeder won other President’s awards from John L. Scott, and in 2016, Reeder was the top residential producer in her office, selling an average of one home per week. She was also the top producer in three out of four quarters last year.

“I would like to congratulate our John L. Scott award recipients for their continued dedication to providing the highest quality service to their clients. Their professionalism and hard work are exemplified by their success,” said J. Lennox Scott of the 2016 winners.

In addition to this prestigious award, Reeder:

Does Your Realtor Have a Marketing Plan?

Homebuyer Tool: Final Walk-Through ChecklistEvery Realtor should have a complete marketing plan to market, negotiate and sell their listings. The ideal marketing plan should be used for every home sale, but should also be adaptable for special circumstances.

I personally use a 23-point marketing plan to be sure my listings sell for the best price and in the shortest time possible. Here are the first five steps of my personalized plan:

  1. Research and advise on property pricing and presentation. If the home seller needs recommendations for repairman or other specialists to prepare their home for sale, I provide recommendations for trusted vendors.
  2. Supply a Comparative Market Analysis, sometimes referred to as a CMA. The CMA will show the sellers recent market activity in their neighborhood. This will help us determine the best market price for the home to maximize the chances of a good offer with the highest profit possible.
  3. Hire a professional stager for private consultation and staging services. This will help the sellers showcase the best features of their home, while also allowing prospective buyers the chance to envision how the home could be decorated.
  4. Hire a professional photographer and coordinate needed photographs of the seller’s home and property.
  5. Submit the listing to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, including photos and descriptions, and syndicate the listing to dozens of online home search websites.

Celebrate the International Day of Charity Sept. 5

Helping Hands: International Day of Charity, Sept. 5In 2012, the United Nations established the International Day of Charity to recognize the role that charity plays in alleviating humanitarian crises and human suffering. It is celebrated on September 5 of each year, in honor of Mother Teresa. According to the UN, there are 7 types of charitable actions that can make a difference in the lives of others:

  1. Donate money.
  2. Donate time.
  3. Donate goods.
  4. Volunteer.
  5. Promote charities on social media with hashtags like #charity #charitablegiving and #DayofCharity.
  6. Start a charity.
  7. Be charitable to others in your day-to-day life.

However you choose to give, you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and organizations. By being charitable, we are ultimately improving everyone’s quality of life and making communities like Kent, Covington and Maple Valley stronger.

Valerie Mays of Team Marti Gets Her Real Estate Broker’s License


Valerie Mays of John L. Scott earns real estate license.Just a year ago Valerie Mays joined my real estate team as my Assistant. The first day was a great day, but the year from that point on was epic! She was promoted to Transaction Lead, and now thanks to her hard work, she has gotten her real estate broker’s license and is now also my Showing Broker.
