Located between Seattle and Tacoma, Federal Way, Washington is part of King County. It is the ninth largest city in Washington State and the fifth largest city in King County. Though largely known for a high density of retail stores, Federal Way also offers two botanical gardens, the Rhododendron Species Foundation and Botanical Garden and the Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection, Wild Waves Theme Park, and the popular King County Aquatic Center.

Other attractions in Federal Way include an indoor shopping mall, The Commons at Federal Way, Steel Lake Park, Celebration Park, Dash Point State Park, the BPA Trail and West Hylebos Wetlands Park. Its largest employers are Federal Way Public Schools, Xerox Commercial Services Business Services, St. Francis Hospital Medical Services, and World Vision.
